Cloud 9

You will never know what cloud nine is unless you hit rock bottom. When you are at rock bottom the only thing you can do is look up!

Shall we look up together?

This *hit Kray.

This reminds me of home and picking blueberries with my Grandpa! We would pick and pick and pick until our finger tips were dark blue. The first few blueberries that drop in the bucket make the most beautiful, cur plunk sound. I can still hear it today:)!

From the amazing florist Amy Osaba.

How about we look up to this wonderful textile designer, Ruth Holland. She is receiving her Masters in Arts at the London College of Fashion. Wow.

Scarf, XOCO Chocolate and Churro Update

I struggle with outfits. I hate getting ready. It takes me forever to look polished but, in a ' I didn't try too hard way'. I guess this is what I am always trying to achieve. I want to look good ya' know but, I also want people to think 'Oh damn, that girl looks like that when she rolls out of bed, wow!" So today I was trying to figure out in a hurry what to wear. The scarf was perfect but, how the hell do you where it? I looked it up on the interent. If you click that link they explain each one IN THE LOOP.

Never forget chocolate and churros might add a few pounds but, they make every outfit sexy. My friend Martha and I had a blast at XOCO. I know you wanted to know that.  I think we were the only people that didn't have to work that day. Maybe this was why we were really enjoying ourselves. Martha Brummett took this photo. I had to show it off because looking for picture of this food was difficult. I love you Martha!

Adventure Day

Lets just say life is such a wonderful journey. In the winter months I tend to get a wee bit uninspired. Maybe it is the proximity of everything or the lack of venturing into the wilderness.

Last night reminded me that I still venture. I had the honors of a retired pimp whom I met in the streets of Chicago send me multiple pictures of himself. His name is Caddy, the pictures were of him in a slew of his old outfits. As you can tell from above they are FABULOUS! What a surprise and inspiration.  I know what you are thinking, 'Why does the retired pimp have your phone number?' Last week I asked to take a picture with him and sent him the picture text. Of all the people I met that day I think he was the most personable. I get a bit discouraged at times by people these days. It seems like we are all in it for ourselves. I understand this is rather fraudulent to say as I am writing about a retired pimp but, you never know who can inspire you. As the great Steinbeck alluded to in The Grapes of Wrath, people and love are what we need the most.  I quote from chapter four, 'It's love. I love people so much I'm fit to bust, sometimes.'... I figgered, 'Why do we got to hang it on God or Jesus? Maybe,' I figgered, 'maybe it's all men an' all women we love; maybe that's the Holy Sperit-the human sperit-the whole shebang. Maybe all men got one big soul ever'body's a part of.' Now I sat there thinkin' it, an' all of a suddent-I knew it. I knew it so deep down that it was true, and I still know it." If you have not read this book. You must especially during this time period. You can realize you have nothing to complain about.

So I am extreemley excited for today. Thanks to Caddy, I have an upbeat spin on today. I have plans to go out with the lovely Martha Brummett from Love, Martha. She and I are going to hangout downtown. We are going to visit the Rick Bayless XOCO, which I guess you could say is pronounced 'sco co'. We are going to indulge in a small brunch of chocolate and churros. After we indulge in some First Aids Kit. Taking me back to Spain for just a lil' bit. Yeah, I know life is good!

Grumpy Turned Not Frumpy

So, I went to work and within 10 mins I was super grumpy. I felt like everyone was on my case. It took a while for things to really go well. A friend of mine said whenever I was grumpy  "you can always change your own wave." Today I did just that. During my lunch break I was like 'holy cow it is so nice out. What makes you happy? Dancing.' So I dug deep into my bag. I found this amazing music box thing that fits in my hand! Oh yeah, this ol'  thing with all my old music. I just danced my way out of my grumpy state of mind. Right on Clark street to Livning Legends. I  do recommend this.

A really quick thanks again to Martha Brummett, she knows the best things of this City. Check out these earrings I am dying for. Oh Chicago, we love you!

Shoot! I gotta go but before I forget check out these sites! They are just some really fun people I met today at the flower shop!

Shit... I am running late ...getting ready for my date!
