To those of you who are battling the winter blues here in Chicago I know the perfect place, Lula! It is owned by Amalea Tshilds and Jason Hammel (I don't know them personally, but would love too)! Could someone get me an interview? Lula Cafe is located on Kedzie Blvd., 2537 to be exact. It is such a great place to warm up and enjoy some great food. The menu is well executed and the quality of the food is right on. The prefix (farm dinner) on monday night is very worthwhile! The whole vibe is casual fine dining with a great staff who knew their food. Plus any restaurant who has Ransom gin gets big points in my book. Dessert was phenomenal, so just go for that, if you don't have much time hibernating in Chicago. I did look at the reviews and I agree I just don't wait for more than a 1/2 hour. This is why Mondays are great days to enjoy great service and no lines!
